Open Day and Sodium Reduction Conference
Thursday, 03 November 2011 13:14
Our open day and sodium reduction conference proved the perfect way to celebrate the official opening of our £750,000 milling and blending facility. The expansion was driven by a worldwide increase in demand for our products, particularly for KUDOS™ Potassium Bicarbonate, our patented sodium reduction solution.
The open day was a great success and many people who have played a pivotal part in the success of Kudos Blends attended the event. Bringing customers, suppliers, partners and the local community together made for a lovely atmosphere on the day, making us very proud to have achieved what we have so far. We did site and factory tours for everyone prior to the official opening of the milling and blending facility, which was performed by local MP Philip Dunne.

On the previous day, we held a sodium reduction conference for customers and industry colleagues. Cindy Beeran, Letterhead Food Research was our guest speaker and she gave an insight into salt reduction strategies being used in Europe and around the world. Dinnie Jordan, Managing Director, Kudos Blends gave a presentation about sodium reduction in the baking industry, and joined up the industry thinking on the subject with the practical steps that can be taken to reduce salt in sweet baked goods without compromising the taste, texture, quality and shelf life of products.
The milling and blending facility is now fully operational, with products being shipped daily to customers all around the world.
